Staycations in Barbados!?

Hello there everyone…I just wanted to let you in on a little hidden gem right here in Barbados that few people know of.

I was not on this sight for the past week because I went on a ‘Staycation’ at a hotel called Barbados Beach Club located on Maxwell Coast Road Christ Church.

http://barbadosbeachclub.com/index.cfm

I read reviews on this hotel on trip advisor and before I went was a little apprehensive but still excited!

Some of you may recall a question that I asked earlier this year about a reaosnable hotel to take my mom to in December…well I ended up choosing Barbados Beach Club and I took her there for a week last week into this week and we simply enjoyed it to the fullest!!

This hotel is situated on a beautiful beachfront and has a nice air to it(it feels good)…by the way, this hotel is owned by a Bajan couple.

When I first went to look at it before taking my mom I was in awe at what I saw…you see this resort is a 3 * resort but the truth is that you get ALOT for a resort that is 3* and I wonder if the onwer even understands what a real gem he has on his hands!

It is an all inclusive resort…so much is included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Afternoon tea, unlimited drinks and lots more. The staff are excellent and make you feel really wlecomed and comfortable especially Michelle from the restaurant.

Now you see the thing that is incredible even more about this resort is the price…they have a LOCAL price that is very overwhelming: US80 per person per room which works out to BDS8.40 per person and believe it or not that is for any view room…Ocean view included…now where on this island can you get an ocean view room on an all inclusive package for that price?? Trust me when I tell you no where because I called lots of hotels.

The rooms come with the things that 4* hotels come with which again was suprising for the price. There is 24/7 security on site and someone is alwasy at the front desk. There are 3 restaurants on site and the main one is the buffet one and the other two a la carte are seafood and the other is Italian(The buffet one is opened every day but not the a la carte ones). I have met people from the Caribbean there: Trinidad and all over and styaing there has been very relaxing for me and my mom and the other locals that we saw there as well.

The exercise room(gym) is pretty basic…Treadmills, exercise bicycles, weights of all sizes, a pull thingy that had weights on it and two other things I didnt know what they were lol.

Most of the staff at the restaurant are genuinely nice and VERY accomadating with you and you felt very comfortable dinning in their presence…I cant help saying that this place is a wonderful resort that is undiscovered right here in our very own Barbados.

The special local price that I told you guys about goes up to December 15th,2009 and from December 16th,2009 the price is US90 per perosn per room which workes out to BDS8.20 per person per room.

Now I wanted to share this with the locals here on this site because it is a shame that we tend to end up paying loads of money to resorts that offer the same things and sometimes less than what this resort is offering because we dont know about it. Perosns from overseas go to this resort and enjoy and we should not let only them enjoy it because it is right here at out back door.

I also think that th ‘Staycation’ packages offered in the paper is a joke!! Those places dont offer all inclusive and are pretty costly to me and Mango Bay has joined them and is offering US200 a night all inclusive which is still more than Barbados Beach Club…but any way I dont mean to fly up in anyones face about the ones in the paper.

We all deserve a vacation..Check out Barbadoa Beach Club!!

Is It Possible to CreateYour Own Nation?

I know this scenario is on the far fetched side. But here goes.

You buy a private island let’s say in the Caribbean. The island is under the sovereignty of the Bahamas.

You develop the island and turn it into a top shelf tourist destination. Of course this will cost millions of dollars to accomplish.

Tourists flock to your vacation spot with 5 star hotels, gambling, sandy beaches and fun times for all.

You decide you want to be free of Bahamian law and implement your own laws. So you negotiate with the government of the Bahamas to let your island go and you sign a proper treaty with the Bahamas regarding national defense (you’ll pay for it), human rights (which you respect), immigration (your hotel workers need places to live) and it all agreed to.

So, can you then become ruler of your own nation?

Vacation Location Ideas?

I’m supposed to be finding a place to go for vacation next winter break for my family of 5 + 1(oldest brother’s girlfriend). We have some places, but for example our spot in Mexico is being run over by the cartels and we’ve already been to Hawaii, so naturally we thought of the Caribbean. My family is 2 teenagers (18 + 14 both male), 1 young adult (20, male) and then our dad and mom. They hate being tourists and don’t like to stay at hotels. Everyone in our family surfs (very well i might add) and we don’t want it to be too expensive. What would be the best island in the Carribean for our family to visit?

Vacation Help–Caribbeaen–Where should we go and how should we book!?

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I (19 and 22) want to go on a four or five night trip to the Caribbean. We’re looking for something around ,000 total that’s all inclusive (flights, meals, hotels, drinks, that kinda stuff). My biggest concerns on picking the right place are the activities and what we’ll do while we’re there. It seems you can find some sort of hotel/resort on every island in the price range we’re looking, so here are some of the qualities we’d like and some of the activities we’d like to do.

-Clear water that’s good for swimming! I have never been to the Caribbean and want to be impressed.
-Good nature: I want to be able to take a hike or just walk around and enjoy the scenery a little.
-Activities: I’d like to scuba dive, do water sports (jet skis, that kinda stuff), and just enjoy myself in general.

Anything that fits this would be great!

Longer Caribbean cruise or more time in the keys?

I am going on vacation this summer to the Caribbean and the keys. I booked a 5 night Caribbean cruise that goes to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. Afterwards, I planned on going to the keys for five days. However, I can change the cruise to a 7 night cruise and go to Cozumel, Mexico as well. And it’s only like 0 more for the longer cruise when you factor hotels, food, and car rental for the keys. But, I would be limited to only 2 days in the keys. Should I change the cruise or not? And if you have been to the keys, which are you favorite?
And the longer cruise is a much nicer ship.

Ceap Florida keys Vaca for two?

Last July me and my lady went on a cruise to the Bahamas in July. We loved it. We talk about it every single day, and it was almost a year ago. We decided that we HAVE to go on another tropical vacation this summer.
We will not have as much money this summer so we have to watch our budget. I do not have the same job that I had last summer, and I am not making nearly as much money as I was.

We are going to try and save up for a few months. So we are planning on maybe late August or September (I heard it can be cheaper that time of year too)

We were thinking maybe 5-7 days in the keys, would be cheaper than another cruise.
I read that camping in the keys can save you money from the expensive hotels, and it can also be very romantic and peaceful.
So if we could camp for a few nights and maybe stay in a hotel for a few nights. That would be ideal.

My question is, how expensive would it be for two to visit the keys for 5-7 days ??? Camping most of the time, and maybe a hotel for one or two nights. Not to many excursions, maybe some snorkeling…. and some site seeing (I am into photography)

We were thinking maybe the Florida keys, or the Virgin islands. But the Florida keys sound cheaper.
I tried to look up like package deals and stuff, but I wasn’t having much luck.

I WILL select best answer.

Thanks a lot

Is this spanish translation correct?????PLEASE HELP!!!!?

My name is Daniel, me and my friend Alexis went on a trip to Puerto Rico for vacation. Puerto Rico is located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of the Virgin Islands; approximately 1,280 miles off the coast of Florida. First we went to the beautiful city of San Juan, which is the capital and largest municipality on Puerto Rico. It is also the oldest city in Puerto Rico as well as in the United States, and the second oldest European-established city in the Americas. As soon as we left the airport we bought tickets which cost us 5 dollars to take the metro system called the Tren Urbano to our hotel, the Ceiba Ocean Front Penthouse which was one of the best hotels in the town. It had a pool, a bar, a park, and it was next to a big mall. After putting our luggage in our rooms, we left the hotel and then took a train to San Juan and visited the Puerto Rico Arts Museum which owns the largest collection of contemporary art in Puerto Rico. After visiting th
