We are trying to book a vacation for January 2011. Would like to enjoy the beaches in the mornings, followed by some excursions/ water sports (jet skis)/ Atv’s. Then to enjoy some bars and restaurants a few nights. Girlfriend also enjoys shopping. Was leaning towards Aruba or Nassau. Any input?
I’m supposed to be finding a place to go for vacation next winter break for my family of 5 + 1(oldest brother’s girlfriend). We have some places, but for example our spot in Mexico is being run over by the cartels and we’ve already been to Hawaii, so naturally we thought of the Caribbean. My family is 2 teenagers (18 + 14 both male), 1 young adult (20, male) and then our dad and mom. They hate being tourists and don’t like to stay at hotels. Everyone in our family surfs (very well i might add) and we don’t want it to be too expensive. What would be the best island in the Carribean for our family to visit?

My girlfriend and I (19 and 22) want to go on a four or five night trip to the Caribbean. We’re looking for something around ,000 total that’s all inclusive (flights, meals, hotels, drinks, that kinda stuff). My biggest concerns on picking the right place are the activities and what we’ll do while we’re there. It seems you can find some sort of hotel/resort on every island in the price range we’re looking, so here are some of the qualities we’d like and some of the activities we’d like to do.
-Clear water that’s good for swimming! I have never been to the Caribbean and want to be impressed.
-Good nature: I want to be able to take a hike or just walk around and enjoy the scenery a little.
-Activities: I’d like to scuba dive, do water sports (jet skis, that kinda stuff), and just enjoy myself in general.
Anything that fits this would be great!
Hi everyone, I’m trying to throw a last minute vacation together for my girlfriend and I near the beginning of Feb and I can’t decide between the islands of the Turks & Caicos or Bahamas or possibly doing a bahamas cruise. This will be our 2nd time in the caribbean and last year we did USVI/BVI for 9 days.
I think all 3 will be around the general area of spending, but I have a few worries about each… Please help if you’ve ever been to either!
Caicos (Provo area)… The island seems very beautiful and and there seems to be a decent amount of stuff to keep us occupied but I’m a little worried that it might get boring after 7 days…
Bahamas: Between all the islands there looks like there’s a lot to do but it also looks expensive to get around to the different islands. Almost 0+ for each passenger if we wanted to leave the island and check others out. So we’d probably be confined to Nassau.
Bahamas or Possible Caribbean Cruise: I was never about cruises but I’m starting to warm up to the idea of seeing multiple places. The prices seem a bit more reasonable too (flight to miami + cruise is still cheaper per person). I just don’t know too much about cruises and I don’t know which is better… seeing more islands with more limited time or spending more time on 1 island?
BTW, we’re 23 & 24 and we’re kind of looking for an all-around kind of island… don’t mind to relax or party and a good mixture of excursions. Something we won’t get bored half way through the week.
My girlfriend is here in the US on a work VISA. THing is that when we go on vacation our travel is limited to the United States since she can’t leave the USA without having issues coming back in. We like going to tropical places in December and we’ve been going to Hawaii the last 5 years. We would like to try something new like the Caribbean. She can travel freely within the United States with no problems but can’t leave the country. Can we go to the US Virgin Islands with out any problems?

so i was planning a vacation to the virgin islands, with my girlfriend, but she is only 20 years old, but is there a drinking age down there. or no, i”m assuming there isnt one cuz its out of the united states . please let me know
Me and my girlfriend want to go somewhere where the ocean water is pretty much clear. Like turquoise. But we don’t know where to go. And we looked at a few islands like cayman island but not for sure.
