My sister in law and I have been looking for cruises during July. It’s just going to be four of us (my bf, me, her and her husband) and since it’s the first time my bf and I will cruise and we REALLY need a vacation, we thought it would be fun to go on the Dream cruise. My sis in law thinks it’s too expensive for her and her husband since they have other vacation plans with their kids as well. Also, they feel it’s too long and they’ve cruise a few times before and they told us that by the 5th day you really just want to get out of the ship. The Dream Cruise goes for a whole week and the itinerary I was looking at was for the Bahamas, St.Thomas, and St. Marteen. Now we really want a ship that goes that way but that we don’t have to fly into P.R to get to it. Is there any other ships that cruise to the east part of the caribbean but leave from Miami and that are 3-5 days? Or that go to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Mexico? During July only!

Oh and if you’ve been on the Dream, is it fun? Is it better to go in a group or more fun if I just go with my bf?

Rather than fly. I want the family (4 ppl) to go. But will this be much cheaper than flying? I know you can get off some cruise ships and walk around but can I catch a different one back at a later date?

I am 23 weeks pregnant and live in Canada. Sometime in January I plan to fly to Aruba with my husband for an all inclusive vacation. We have chosen Aruba as it is supposed to be a safe caribbean island. What are you thoughts on flying/travelling to Aruba during the 2nd trimester?

I would like to take a vacation to somewhere exotic and off of the mainland. It is within my understanding that one does not need a passport to travel to u.s. territories such as guam, puerto rico, virgin islands, etc., etc. The issus is, is that I have warrants stemming from an incedent when I was younger. When I was eighteen I got into some trouble and have not resolved these issues. If I fly off of the mainland, will they somehow find my warrants? Oh yeah, they’re felony warrants. Another thing, would I have to go through customs?
OK, so I have to go through customs…But is a warrant check a standard procedure for customs? I have been told that customs is primarily for ensuring that certain possession-related offenses arent commited such as bringing something you shouldn’t be into or from a country.

We are wanting to take a vacation to the british virgin islands, and we noticed that the flights to the bvi were more expensive and longer than flights to puerto rico. we were wondering if we could fly to peurto rico and take a quick ferry from there to virgin gorda? I’m planning on flying to St. Thomas around mid-December or January and I’ve heard that you need a passport to fly back. I’ve also heard that you only need a birth certificate and ID. So, which is it?

What about Puerto Rico? The flight I’m considering on Orbitz might have me stop by there on the way to St. Thomas.

My husband and I are looking to go to the Caribbean next month. Neither of us are much for just lounging in the sun and I will be about 3 month pregnant by then so partying is out as is diving, zip lines, and other such activities. We are laid back outdoorsy camping types, into photography and want both beach and rainforest. I am leaning toward St Lucia (and have looked into Guadalupe and Dominica but they don’t seem as easy to get to). We don’t want to go to a fancy, big money spending place or like a Spring Break or Hollywood vacation spot- just normal. I would like to avoid places I have been already (USVI, Bahamas, Jamaica) and Puerto Rico is probably too American. We are also looking into Costa Rica. We would like to keep it reasonably priced and aren’t sure all inclusive is necessarily worth it for us (it seems it costs about 0 per person per day and I just cant see eating 0 worth per day- you almost have to drink your money’s worth). Also we don’t want to spend the whole trip at a resort- we want to get out and explore!
Okay, I am being sold on PR a bit now… plus it’s a lot cheaper to fly to and get good nonstop flights, or early arrivals…but would love to hear more from people…

I am going on vacation in a few days and found out that I have a warrant for my arrest-contempt of court-in my home state. I do not live in that state any more and this warrant is from 2003. I didn’t realize that I hadn’t completly paid my fine off. Am I going to be able to fly or is there going to be problems. I am planning on taking care of this as soon as I get home, but I doubt it is going to be able to clear up in 2 days. Why did they wait so long before notifying me about this?
