What are the temps in early January around St. Croix USVI? Taking a cruise then.?
My love and I are thinking of a honeymoon January 3-8, 2011. We see a cruise leaving out of San Juan for several island stops. Will it be warm enough to still swim?

The most fun day of my life is when my family went to the Caribbean Sea on a cruise. Our family went on the cruise last summer and visited 3 islands. The name of our ship was Carnival Miracle. Our vacation was 2 weeks. We spent 8 days in the ocean and 6 days on the islands.
THANKS:)
I’m looking for a place for myself and a few of my friends to go on vacation and i’m not sure where the best place to go would be. We’d like to go somewhere warm and tropical like Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, Costa Rica, or some type of island. We aren’t opposed to a cruise, but we need wherever we go to be relatively affordable or have accommodations that are, because we are college students on a budget but we can splurge a bit. Any recommendations for somewhere that would be fun, have beautiful beaches, and not be too pricey??
A Cruise in the Caribbean – Once in a Lifetime Opportunity
Going on a Caribbean cruise is certainly one of the finest ways of spending ones holidays. But it is always a good idea to have some knowledge of the places you intend to visit beforehand when you go on a Caribbean cruise. It goes without saying that the on-board activities would keep you busy and would never let you get bored of sailing but in addition to it, you must also keep in mind the ways you are going to spend time when you stop at different stops. Let us have a look at some of the best islands where you would land while on your Caribbean cruise.
St. Croix
It is on the Eastern side of the Caribbean. St. Croix is located in the Virgin Islands and for people with sporty tastes, it is virtually a paradise. You can go kayaking here. And yes, if you want to feel some history playing in front of you, have a look at the place where Christopher Columbus landed.
St. Thomas
When you are in the Virgin Island, how can you miss visiting St. Thomas? It is by far the best place to go for snorkeling at the Cinnamon Bay National Park. And why should you do that. Well for the simple reason that nature has kept the surrounding waters of St. Thomas very shallow and you can easily see all types of marine creatures here. And that is some experience to have.
Grenada
This is some island to visit no doubt. The hurricane Ivan completely devastated this island in the year 2004, yet it is still the place to be when you are on a Caribbean cruise. For the ones who live some underwater adventure, you can’t get a better place for scuba diving. The place is full of great under-water sights. The presence of a number of underwater volcanoes as well as a lot of myriad colored tropical fish make the day of scuba divers.
Jamaica
Jamaica is also one such great places to be during your Caribbean cruise. See to it that you don’t miss a visit to Jamaica at any cost. Bustling markets of Jamaica is a well known sight here. For adventure seekers, there is Bamboo rafting to pump the adrenaline.
Puerto Rico
You must have heard of Conado Beach. It is perhaps one of the most famous beaches in the world. Puerto Rico is certainly worth a visit for all you on Caribbean cruise.
Aruba
Aruba is certainly a place worth visiting. Even though it is a small island in the Dutch Antilles, yet it boasts of over one year worth of beaches, 365 beaches. So, even if you have to spend a year here, you would find one new beach to relax and take in sun, every day. Not without reason, Aruba is considered the paradise island.
James Penn runs a highly informative Caribbean website which details exactly how to find Caribbean beach resorts and also the ten best activities in the Caribbean for families and couples alike.

My husband is a fish out of water – scuba diving, snorkelling, etc. I love the mountains – peaceful, cool, quiet. I want to go on a second Honeymoon, but I don’t want to drag him someplace or be dragged. Is there a cruise that would visit both mountains and reefs? Where should we go?
several adults and one 10 yr old on trip- website to decide between taking a cruise or flying to beach? website or forums for budgeting, finding flights? any suggestions of places you’ve been in the caribbean or mexico? want to scuba dive.. not sure where to begin- travel agent not helping much.
Pros:
Trip of a lifetime with good friends.
We are trying to get pregnant so this would probably be our last trip before kids.
Awesome private boat, complete freedom to roam the islands for 10 days.
The people who invited us know the islands and know how to run the boat, which we could never do on our own.
Way more fun than standard cruise or resort.
We were planning on taking a vacation in December anyways (this trip is in October).
Cons:
Expensive: 00 total (for two) for 10 days.
Would take all but 00 of our savings.
I am applying for jobs, and could be starting a new job a month before the trip. (Would this hurt my job prospects? Would I get fired?)
We would prefer a less expensive trip, in December or later.
I am worried that if we pass this opportunity up, it is not likely to present itself again! I have a tendency to "go for it" while my husband is more cautious.
I’m looking at booking a cruise with an iternary that looks like this…

On one hand, I really want to go to different islands like listed above b/c I really do not want to be stuck in one place. On the other hand, I do not want to be rushed to not miss the ship b/c I want to go and do a bunch of stuff. Some sightseeing things can take a few hours. I really do not know where to go on vacation. Anyone have any recommendations in the Bahamas? I really want to swim with dolphins, see other wildlife, swim (of course), see waterfalls/nature, rainforests, etc etc Ughh I’m just so flustered LOL b/c I want to just do so much stuff.
We’re planning on going scuba diving this summer under the supervision of a certified instructor as a cruise excursion. Unfortunately, my brother is worried he’ll run out of air (we’re only going about 15-20 feet deep, so on the off-chance that happens, it isn’t too hard to swim to the surface (plus, there are a bunch of people who’ll be there just in case; it’s the clear waters of the caribbean, so they can see him). Anything I can say to reassure him that he isn’t gonna drown?
