best vacation destination?

I’m looking for a place for myself and a few of my friends to go on vacation and i’m not sure where the best place to go would be. We’d like to go somewhere warm and tropical like Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, Costa Rica, or some type of island. We aren’t opposed to a cruise, but we need wherever we go to be relatively affordable or have accommodations that are, because we are college students on a budget but we can splurge a bit. Any recommendations for somewhere that would be fun, have beautiful beaches, and not be too pricey??

Should I go with her – out of the country?

My friend has a birthday coming up,and she wants to go to Europe.
I don’t want to,cause the euro is so high against the dollar.
I suggested some place warm, and she nixed that idea ( like the Caribbean islands).
I work for an airline, and she wants to get a travel pass.
Also,I go to this place frequently, and its the last place where I want to be for a vacation.
I just don’t want to go. Any suggestions?
Needless to say, this could put a dent in my budget, since we’ve had massive pay cuts at the company.

I wonder about her motivations.
Once I asked her to write a recommendation for me,and she said to write it myself, and sign her name.
This just didn’t feel right, and I have yet to write it.
What do you think?
I mentioned the other alternatives, and she is so focused on this European trip.
No sun for her!
She doesn’t want to consider anything else.

West Coast vacation ideas? 7-10 day trip?

Usually we travel on the South/South East Coast, or we cruise the Caribbean. We are staying closer to home this year …i.e. in the USA. We’ve cruised the W, E, and S Caribbean so we are going to give that a break, since flights are so expensive and we’ve visited many of the islands already.

I was thinking of traveling on the West Coast, as we have never been (except for a quick business trip).

Any one have ideas of cities to visit and things to do? Thinking of visiting N. California, Oregon, Washington, maybe crossing over to Canada. I’ve always been fascinated with Alcatrez and San Francisco. I don’t know much about Oregon & Washington.

Other thoughts were visiting Southern California for a few days (my son really wants to visit LA), and then take a 4-7 day Mexican Riviera cruise.

The trip will be for myself, and my 16 year old son in June 09.

Any feedback on vacation ideas or destination cities would be appreciated. I’m pretty open as far as budget. Would like to stay around -3K if possible not including airfare & car rental.

Thanks

Best Caribbean All-Inclusive Resorts??

My husband, a deployed soldier, and I are planning our next vacation. When my husband returns from his 15 month deployment, we want to get away and relax. We have been to several islands in the Caribbean and are open to going anywhere that has a nice beach, beautiful ocean, great accommodations, good food, and an abundance of drinks. Our budget will be between 00 and 00 for airfare from Indianapolis or Chicago and accommodations for 7 nights.

Any suggestions?

Ceap Florida keys Vaca for two?

Last July me and my lady went on a cruise to the Bahamas in July. We loved it. We talk about it every single day, and it was almost a year ago. We decided that we HAVE to go on another tropical vacation this summer.
We will not have as much money this summer so we have to watch our budget. I do not have the same job that I had last summer, and I am not making nearly as much money as I was.

We are going to try and save up for a few months. So we are planning on maybe late August or September (I heard it can be cheaper that time of year too)

We were thinking maybe 5-7 days in the keys, would be cheaper than another cruise.
I read that camping in the keys can save you money from the expensive hotels, and it can also be very romantic and peaceful.
So if we could camp for a few nights and maybe stay in a hotel for a few nights. That would be ideal.

My question is, how expensive would it be for two to visit the keys for 5-7 days ??? Camping most of the time, and maybe a hotel for one or two nights. Not to many excursions, maybe some snorkeling…. and some site seeing (I am into photography)

We were thinking maybe the Florida keys, or the Virgin islands. But the Florida keys sound cheaper.
I tried to look up like package deals and stuff, but I wasn’t having much luck.

I WILL select best answer.

Thanks a lot

Where is the best place to stay in the Caribbean?

My boyfriend and I are looking to get away in September and would like to go to the Caribbean (not Mexico). I have been looking into several destinations but can’t really decide where the best place is. I have looked at Punta Cana, Jamaica, Aruba and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Many of these places looked great but when I read reviews there were a lot of negative aspects to each of these places- so here is my criteria for this vacation:

All-Inclusive
Good Food
Beautiful Beach with clear water
Fun activities for 20 somethings
Modern rooms and amenities
Pool
"tourist friendly" area
Budget Friendly- can afford up to 00 total for 4 nights

Can anyone recommend a place to stay that would fit most of this criteria

Need Travel Advice – Honeymoon!?

My fiance can’t seem to agree on where we would like to vacation for our honeymoon. We both want to stay in the caribbean though. Our total budget for airfare and lodging is about 00 for 5 nights (June 22-27). He wants to be close to a rainforest and I want to be on the beach. We don’t want to stay at a international chain hotel or resort (i.e. Hilton, etc..) We don’t need a ton of amenities, but the place should be clean and new-ish.

Help? (So far we’ve searched Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, & US Virgin Islands)
We want a relaxing vacation where we can interact with locals. It doesn’t have to be all-inclusive either.
Airfare/lodging packages would be GREAT!

What's the best caribbean island for fun and budget friendly?

I’m going on vacation with a friend and her family this summer, and they’re having problems planning and deciding where to go, so I told them i’d try to help out. None of us have ever been to the caribbean before. They want to stay at an all inclusive resort, somewhere that has a lot to do for adults (my friend and i are 19 and 18, then her parents…parents are okay with drinking/partying, and we love adventuring and being active) but not crazy overpopulated with tourists. we want to be around people but not be suffocated ha. Budget isn’t a super big issue but it’d be cool to save some money on the trip as well. I think the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, or Turks and Caicos might be cool, but I have no idea. any input on good resorts, good places to look online for package deals/airfare deals, things to do while there, and anything else noteworthy would be great.
thanks!
