I recently took a vacation in Singapore & completely fell in love with the island. Now I’m thinking about pursuing job opportunities there. I am from Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean and am just wondering how hard is the process to complete. Any information is appreciated.
I’m trying to decide whether to go to the eastern (St. Thomas USVI,Bahamas Half Moon Cay, Bahamas, San Juan, Puerto Rico,&Grand Turk) or western ( Cozumel, Mexico, Ocho Rios Jamaica, & Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) =)

My amazing cool, fun, awesome mother (who is in her forty’s but you would never know). two fun friends who are in there thirty’s, and I (16) are all looking for an Island to Visit. We’ve All been to Jamaica, and Grenada, and we aren’t really fond of Mexico, We are Looking for Fun & Excitement, Something to give us a Good Time.Here are some things we look for in a hotel :

* Beach on Site
* Disco
* Near the City
* Entertainment
* Spa
* &nd Really just a Good Time.

Usually we travel on the South/South East Coast, or we cruise the Caribbean. We are staying closer to home this year …i.e. in the USA. We’ve cruised the W, E, and S Caribbean so we are going to give that a break, since flights are so expensive and we’ve visited many of the islands already.
I was thinking of traveling on the West Coast, as we have never been (except for a quick business trip).
Any one have ideas of cities to visit and things to do? Thinking of visiting N. California, Oregon, Washington, maybe crossing over to Canada. I’ve always been fascinated with Alcatrez and San Francisco. I don’t know much about Oregon & Washington.
Other thoughts were visiting Southern California for a few days (my son really wants to visit LA), and then take a 4-7 day Mexican Riviera cruise.
The trip will be for myself, and my 16 year old son in June 09.
Any feedback on vacation ideas or destination cities would be appreciated. I’m pretty open as far as budget. Would like to stay around -3K if possible not including airfare & car rental.

Entertainment: The G.O.s and Coast Guard made the vacation because without them it would have been an episode of Lost on an abandoned island. Make sure you take care of the bartenders (tip $$$) and then you will see how they will come right to you everytime you walk up to the bar. The shows are somewhat OK watch the Circus Show on Fri night as that is the best one. Forget about the gym no treadmill, weights are that of an old folks home in west palm. Play softball as that is one of the best times you will have on the island……mix in some ping pong.
Question: I was reading a review about Providenciales Turks & Caicos Islands, Caribbbean above. Does anyone know what is The G.O.s and Coast Guard? Are they something like entertainment or security people?

I am thinking about buying a pomeranian puppy from a breeder. She shows her dogs in France and is located in Guadeloupe (where she shows them as well), which is a small caribbean island close to the island which I live on. The parents have the necessary testing done for the breed. She sells her pups at 12 weeks old and they come with health certificate, necessary vaccinations, 5 generation pedigree, a tattoo in the ear and french kennel club papers. She sells them fro 1200 euro each or 1600 us dollars. I will be visiting her in June when I go on vacation there. My question is, does she look and sound like a good breeder, and do her prices sound reasonable?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to throw a last minute vacation together for my girlfriend and I near the beginning of Feb and I can’t decide between the islands of the Turks & Caicos or Bahamas or possibly doing a bahamas cruise. This will be our 2nd time in the caribbean and last year we did USVI/BVI for 9 days.
I think all 3 will be around the general area of spending, but I have a few worries about each… Please help if you’ve ever been to either!
Caicos (Provo area)… The island seems very beautiful and and there seems to be a decent amount of stuff to keep us occupied but I’m a little worried that it might get boring after 7 days…
Bahamas: Between all the islands there looks like there’s a lot to do but it also looks expensive to get around to the different islands. Almost 0+ for each passenger if we wanted to leave the island and check others out. So we’d probably be confined to Nassau.
Bahamas or Possible Caribbean Cruise: I was never about cruises but I’m starting to warm up to the idea of seeing multiple places. The prices seem a bit more reasonable too (flight to miami + cruise is still cheaper per person). I just don’t know too much about cruises and I don’t know which is better… seeing more islands with more limited time or spending more time on 1 island?
BTW, we’re 23 & 24 and we’re kind of looking for an all-around kind of island… don’t mind to relax or party and a good mixture of excursions. Something we won’t get bored half way through the week.
