Does anyone have a good destination wedding spot in the USVI?

I recently got engaged and we are really set on a destination wedding. We don’t want to have to ask people to get passports, so we are thinking of the US Virgin Islands. I’d like a place that’s all inclusive, and I want to see if anyone on here has had a destination wedding in either St. John, St. Croix, or St. Thomas? and what was the experience like? Please only respond if you have either had a wedding there or been to one!

What are the temps in early January around St. Croix USVI? Taking a cruise then.?

My love and I are thinking of a honeymoon January 3-8, 2011. We see a cruise leaving out of San Juan for several island stops. Will it be warm enough to still swim?

rain forest gear in the USVI?

Requesting info on suggested rain forest gear. North shore, St Croix……remote, west of Carambola…..near tidal pools on higher ground. 58 year old male going to spend a week to ten days on a solo retreat. Not to worry….everyone knows the plan. Just looking for some really good product lines to bring along for comfort. Climbing alone with gps and beacon. Already been there and going back. Any gear you have used in a rain forest would be of interest.

What Caribbean island should I move to?

I am a US Citizen looking to move to the Caribbean and I am looking for suggestions on which island I should move to.

Please do not turn this question into a debate about qualifying for citizenship, immigration and work authorization. I can obtain a legal residency status in almost any nation.

Which island would be of most benefit based on my expectations.

- white sandy beaches with no shortage of gorgeous water

- limited rocky coastlines and limited elevations

- no bigger than jamica or st. croix in land mass

- does not have a fierce hatred for the United States

- mostly English speaking

- island where a skilled american with legal rights to work can find a job

Here is what I am weighing..

- Jamaica

- St. Croix USVI

- British Virgin Islands

- Barbados

- St. Lucia

- Martinique

- Belize (central america)

- Aruba

- Cayman Islands (harder for me to get into)

Where should we go on a romantic carribean vacation for our anniversary?

My husband and I are planning a romantic vacation to the Caribbean for our 5th anniversary.
October 2011- Yes I’m starting to plan it a year and a half in advance.. I’m a planner ;)

We want to go to an all inclusive resort. I want it to be romantic and somewhat secluded but would love to have some activities to keep us entertained as well. We’re not golfers or tennis players…
Would love water sports like Jetskiing, Snorkling, Parasailing, swimming with dolphins maybe. I would exspecially enjoy shows or some form of entertainment.

Some places I have begun to cosider are:
The Bahamas, Turkes and Caicos, Virgin Islands, Antigua, Domincan Republic….

I orginally was fascinated by the Sandals Resort in Nassua, but now i’m thinking I would enjoy going somewhere a little less common and maybe a little further into the carribean.
My recent favorite is the Dreams resort in Punta Cana… any opinions on it?

Any and all suggestions are welcome, Thank You!!

Looking for a secluded tropical island to move to that might be ok for the homeless?

I am looking for an island I can move to in the Caribbean or elsewhere that has at least some flat elevation I can move to. I will be homeless by choice when arriving and will be sleeping in a hammock on the beach somewhere. Any place that has some degree of flat land in areas that matter would be helpful. Also, if tourism wasn’t surging that would help. I was thinking St. Croix, USVI because it is less of a popualr attraction as opposed to St. Thomas. But I’m not sure any flat land exists on St. Croix. I was thinking Little Cayman but I don’t know how well that is policed and I am a US Citizen. What about central america or south america? I have no idea how I will find work but I’m hoping I can find a beach shack to get started at. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
